Google search results - the difference between an average sales performance and an outstanding sales performance.

Understanding the Google Search Results is key to getting top of Google.

The Google search window is made up of 3 key areas. At the top of google's page you will often see between 1 and 3 sponsored listings. Business details shown here are surrounded by a slightly off white background - they have paid alot of money to get to the top of Google's search results - once you click on their advert (it is an advert), they will pay google a certain amount of money.

On the right hand edge of the Google search window are further sponsored links or adverts. These are the same as the top ones but they have elected not to pay as much (or they are not as experienced) and therefore feature down the side of the page rather than at the top. There used to bel be further pages of sponsored links if you are interested in looking at them! Google have withdrawn these, presumably to make the top spots more exclusive and earn them more revenue!

The main results on Google's Search window are shown in the main body of the page but may start underneath the top sponsored links - in other words with a purely white background.

As you can see from the screen shot above, google's search results depend on how much you are willing to pay for sponsored links or how well you have optimised your pages.

The web site tonbridgebuilder.co.uk was a site I provided and optimised and it is no 1 (within 3-4 weeks).
